About this deal

Risks and danger are a part of life, and avoiding danger may be more harmful than the damage itself. But then again, if you're looking for inspiration and motivation and you are really ready to put the work in, this book will do that whether you are new to self help or not.

I liked the "be obsessed" message, until it turned into a a sales pitch for his ridiculously expensive get rich quick sales school. When all of the sudden, your newest friend, Grant Cardone, shows up, ready to party and loudly letting everyone there know it. Your purpose should be so enmeshed with your identity that if you’re not living into that purpose, you feel like you’re not being you. If he played by the rules, they said, he could enjoy everyone else's version of middle class success. He actually asks this question in response to asking if you are doing things you don't need to be doing.

All you know is that it sounds like it could cause cardiac or respiratory issues, or require a lot of cocaine. I do have to say that I do get sick of reading the same self - help books over and over again because they all say the same thing. I started studying other people and companies that had made it big and discovered they all had lots of employees. I was having a medical checkup recently, and as the doctor started to check my blood pressure, she launched into a lecture: “You know, people like you tend to be under a lot of stress. Why would I spend my time stuffing envelopes when I could be meeting with clients and closing sales that generate thousands of dollars more. But I had to say I wish I did have such an uncle to guide me through the true reality of life and shine the light on me which this book did just that. If you’re thinking that that sounds like a lot of effort or you’re wondering why you should bother, the author has this little nugget of wisdom to offer: goals are whatseparates the obsessed and the average.

Everyone told him that going for the long shot wasn't worth it, and that he should keep his hopes and dreams reasonable and achievable. Asked myself some really good questions as a result of reading it and plan to read it again in the future. That’s when he realized that he had simply gotten off track; he felt unfulfilled because he was no longer obsessed with fulfilling his true purpose! I believe I know best in everything I do, and if I don’t, I get trained until I have complete confidence and competence in whatever I am doing. So, if you find yourself struggling with hints of a hidden purpose rather than a flashing neon sign, you might find it helpful to start by keeping mental notes about the aspects of your day that make you feel most alive. My guess is the latter: Most people have just given up and said, “It’s easier if I just do it myself. Instead, an obsessed person renews their sense of meaning and fulfilment by constantly setting new tasks for themselves to accomplish.

Put simply, being obsessed just means that you are fierce and passionate in the way you chase your dreams. He reclaimed his obsession with wanting to be a business rock star, a super salesman, a huge philanthropist. If any of those things describe you, then it’s highly likely that you may have grown used to thinking of yourself as special or as someone who makes people stand up and take notice. If you listen to them, the result is the same: They will deter you and add doubt and confusion to your already-challenging goals, making a difficult activity a thousand times more difficult.
