About this deal

The gin’s distinct nose first yields a subtle juniper aroma, with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes.

The design of Elephant Gin’s logo as a stamp is a nod to the letters sent home by the 19th century explorers of Africa, in which they described the botanical discoveries they made. All of this combines to give Elephant Gin the romantic impression that it wouldn't look out of place on board the HMS Beagle. Elephant Gin is also one gin barkeepers don't want to be without, whether on their shelves at home or at work. Made in Germany using African botanicals, Elephant Strength Gin is an excellent example of the navy style.

The gin is powerful (think elephant-powerful), intense and full-bodied, with a fresh aroma and a higher viscosity than the original; superb in cocktails, it’s equally perfect for recreating the African bush Sundowner experience and for bold adventures across urban plains. In 2023, marking the 10th anniversary of the brand, Elephant Gin Distillery was opened in the small town of Wittenburg near Hamburg and is home to their Holstein Copper Pot stills as well as offering tours and tastings. Taste An intense burst of fresh aroma and natural sweetness, followed by a full-bodied botanical foundation and beautifully balanced juniper end. The Elephant Gin botanicals are selected carefully, and sourced from all over the globe, including, of course, from Africa. The gin's nose yields a subtle juniper aroma with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes.

Having been able to give over half a million euros to African elephant conservation projects over the last six years and making a difference to on the ground is something we are most proud of. Each batch of Elephant Gin, comprised of just 800 bottles, is named after an elephant, living or dead, that was known personally to the conservationists. The term 'schnapps' comes from the Low German language and is a nod to the fact the drink should be consumed quickly. They're perfectly balanced, and the traditional copper pot still distillation method by which they become Elephant Gin brings out their individual flavours excellently.

Rich aroma of squeezed lime and grapefruit, with stewed fruits, cooked biscuits and roasted hazelnuts. Whilst the Elephant London Dry Gin and Elephant Strength Gin share the same fourteen botanicals, including rare African ingredients, to create their distinctive flavour profiles, the latter uses twice the quantity of botanicals and has an ABV of 57%. With the hand-crafted bottle, complete with cork stopper and an old fashioned map on the label, Elephant Dry Gin certainly captures the spirit of exploration.

Although produced in Germany, the gins are an extraordinary tribute to the continent of Africa: in addition to more classic herbs, roots and fruits, African botanicals such as cassis and lion's tail are used. The Strength encompasses twice the quantity of botanicals and a focus on the extraordinary African buchu, sweet orange peel and herbaceous mountain pine. Handcrafted, all botanicals are hand-selected, labels hand-written and each batch named after a special African elephant. While its story started in South Africa, Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany with focus on the highest production standards and use of high-quality botanicals, including rare African ingredients to create the gin's distinctive flavour profile. With each bottle of this herbal, fruity and spicy gin sold, Elephant Gin will donate 15% of their profits to elephant conservation charities which makes the gin taste even better.

The label has a resemblance to a stamped postage stamp, from the double-sided printed label on the back shines through a map to the front.
